SBL stands for Strategy of Books, Learning and Games. That's the whole idea in one line: kids should play, but they shouldn't stop learning while they do it.
SBL Games is part of the SB Link Network — a family of websites I build and run alongside an internet-service business and several other educational and utility sites. I got tired of watching kids' game sites fill up with sign-up forms, paywalls, and ads that ask for personal info, so I made the site I wished existed: every game free, nothing to install, no account needed to play, and nothing collected from the child who's playing.
This is the short list, and it's easier to read than the legal one in our privacy policy:
Everything original on this site was written or built from scratch. The games that aren't mine are open-source HTML5 games, hosted on our own server and used under their licenses. If you made one of them and want it credited differently or removed, email [email protected] and it's gone within a day.
We build and maintain this site ourselves, and we've spent years making child-safe content that follows the rules that matter. Every game and story is screened for age-appropriateness before it's published — nothing goes up that we wouldn't show our own kids. We follow the standards and guidance set by:
The site is hosted on my own PC, so if my internet goes down, so does the site. It comes back when the connection does. I'm working on moving it to proper hosting so it stays up even when I'm not around.
